There are lots of creative waffle irons out there, but this one is the most unique I've seen, yet.

I have never thought about doll-house furniture with a dual purpose of providing breakfast, but it exists!  Yay!

Pearl Jam Saves the Earth

Happy Earth Day!  What could be a better topic for today than a feature about Pearl Jam saving trees?!

Tom and I recently watched the Pearl Jam 20 documentary, a good show. 

Glad to find out that Pearl Jam offset its carbon footprint for its 20th Anniversary Destination Weekend, video below.  Their support is making a direct impact at The Conservation Fund's 24,000 acre Garcia River Forest in northern California.

People Who Thought The Space Shuttle Was the Challenger

I would have had the best view of the space shuttle flying over D.C. on Tuesday while at the Capitol, but because of a 10am meeting, I missed the whole thing by 5 minutes. Dang.

At least I did not see the shuttle and think it was the Challenger. DCist.com ran a great post on Tuesday about the multitude of people who posted about seeing the Challenger. Sure, I make historical mistakes sometimes, too, but this is too awkward to not re-post.

Eastern Shore, MD

Tom and I headed to the Eastern Shore of Maryland this weekend, to kayak and camp.

We found a local pizza shop in Crisfield, Maryland, that would rent us a kayak, since the state park rentals were not open for the season, yet. We packed up the boat and headed to Jane's Island, where we camped on a platform in the marsh. It's a public campsite, but to us it felt like a private island.




I messed up this photo because it would have looked like Tom was walking on water. He did find an oyster.
The beach! After we kayaked back to shore Sunday morning, we headed to the beach up by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and then biked around to Kent's Narrows nearby to enjoy more of the Bay views.
